Diaganol and artful hairstyles galore, it was a tough weekend at the L word convention in Blackpool. As it rained constantly with high winds there wasn't much to do but drink drink and drink.

Uh Uh Her performed on the Friday night and I hate to say it but I was a little disappointed. They looked the part.... very pleasing to my wondering eye, but music wise, they lacked maybe...experience. I imagine after they have a few more gigs under their belt, they will become more polished. I look forward to seeing them again in March when they play the Shepherds Bush Empire.

Saturday - had to queue for fucking ages to get a photo taken with the one and only but what I saw before my eyes, when it finally came to my turn, horrified me!! Yes, Kate Moennig had a coldsore!! My photo was ruined! What made matters worse, when I went to get my valued L word book autographed, it was bleeding everywhere!! Thank God I had my photo taken before it cracked open.

I was dying to see Laurel Hollowman and Eric Mabius. I walked in and they were just too nice. They weren't my favourite characters but I was instantly smitten. The charm was oozing off Eric Mabius. He even ventured out into the public arena full of 2000 lesbians and had a couple of drinks at the bar.

The question and answer sessions were entertaining with the usual "will you marry me Kate?" questions and questions about her sexuality. Yawn. But when the 3 girls were together, it was a classic moment.

I managed to take a few photos between spikes of hair. They aren't great but..hey.. I tried.

It was a good weekend but only cause we were amongst good company and I'm not sure I'd return to a convention - too much waiting around and queuing...and as for Blackpool....I'll never be back!
